Trendyol Signs Global Partnership with English Football Giant Manchester City
Manchester City has signed a new global partnership agreement with Türkiye-based e-commerce platform Trendyol. Under the agreement, Trendyol has become the English football club’s “Official Online Marketplace Partner.” As part of the partnership, the Trendyol brand will be featured across the club’s digital channels, social media platforms, and various areas at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City and Trendyol to Develop Bespoke Campaigns
As part of the new partnership, Trendyol and the club will develop bespoke content and campaigns for fans. Through the initiatives to be carried out with Manchester City, the e-commerce platform’s digital visibility will be increased, while the Trendyol brand will also be displayed at the Etihad Stadium. The partnership has been added to the brand’s portfolio of sports-focused collaborations supporting its e-commerce activities in international markets.
Trendyol Reaches More Than 40 Million Customers
Founded in Istanbul in 2010, Trendyol today brings together more than 40 million customers and approximately 250,000 sellers on its platform. The e-commerce company operates in 35 countries, while more than 40 million products are available on its platform. Operating across various retail categories, primarily fashion, beauty, home and living, and electronics, the company continues to expand its international operations.
Before the Manchester City agreement, Trendyol had also stood out with its sponsorship investments in football and sports. The company is among the official sponsors of the Türkiye National Football Teams and serves as the title sponsor of the Süper Lig and 1. Lig. The e-commerce platform was also among the official partners of UEFA Euro 2024.
Emphasis on Global Growth and E-Commerce
Peter Laundy, Senior Vice President of Partnerships at City Football Group, highlighted Trendyol’s rapidly growing international presence in his statement regarding the agreement. Laundy stated that the company is one of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms and continues to expand its activities in global sports sponsorships.
Trendyol Gulf CEO Mohamad ElAnsari, meanwhile, said while evaluating the Manchester City partnership that the company has had strong ties with football in Türkiye for many years. ElAnsari stated that collaborating with a globally recognized sports brand during its international growth process represents an important step for Trendyol.
In addition to its e-commerce and retail operations, Trendyol continues to invest in technology. Within Trendyol Tech, work is being carried out on artificial intelligence agents, search and recommendation systems, machine learning infrastructures, and various artificial intelligence models.
